How to Make the Perfect Custom Earrings

Materials
The first thing you’ll need to know about creating your own earrings is what materials you’ll need. Here are a few of our suggestions when it comes to the basics:
Earring hooks
Something to clean the earrings with
Glue (a hot glue gun is best)
Thin wire
Small pliers
Of course, you’ll also need whatever it is you want to put on your earrings, like paint, gems, or glitter. Most of these materials can be found at your local craft store in a wide variety, so you’re sure to find the things you’ll need to make a pair of earrings that your mom will love!
How Do I Make Them?
The first thing you’ll want to do after acquiring all of your materials is disinfect the earring hooks– after all, clean earrings make a much better gift than dirty ones (check out this blog for more tips on this)! After that, putting the earrings together is entirely up to you and what your vision is!
If you want to make some simple, dainty earrings, try twisting some thin wire into different shapes. If you’re not sure where to start, try wrapping it around some household objects and see what fun designs you come up with. If you want to include gems or crystals, you can also wrap the wire around those and then use the wire to attach them to the earring hooks.
If you’re going for something a little more sparkly, try rolling some aluminum foil into a small ball, rolling it in glue, and then covering it with glitter. You could also use clay to form a ball (or whatever shape you want!), let it dry, and paint it.
